Plumber in Crediton

Plumbing, heating and heat pumps across Crediton and the surrounding villages. Eight miles from Exeter and a regular run for us.

Crediton

What we do in Crediton

Crediton sits eight miles north west of Exeter and it is a regular run for us, along with the villages spread out around it.

The town itself is on mains gas. Go a few miles in any direction and a lot of it simply is not, and that changes the conversation entirely.

Out in the villages there are oil tanks in gardens everywhere, and cob and stone cottages that were built long before anyone thought about insulation.

Services

Everything, including emergencies

Emergency plumbing

Burst pipes, bad leaks, no heating or hot water. Ring us and you will get a straight answer on how soon we can be there.

Boiler installation

New boilers and replacements in Crediton, fitted by Gas Safe registered engineers at a fixed price agreed before we start.

Boiler servicing & repair

Annual services, breakdowns and repairs. A serviced boiler burns less gas and is far less likely to pack up in January.

Air source heat pumps

Installed with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant taken off the quote before you pay. £7,500, or £9,000 for eligible off-gas-grid homes from 21 July 2026.

Air conditioning

F-Gas qualified installation and servicing. Modern units are heat pumps, so they warm a room in winter as well as cooling it in summer.

Bathroom installation

Full bathrooms in Crediton. Plumbing, tiling, electrics and finishing by one team, at one price.

Landlord gas certificates

Annual CP12 certificates for landlords, agents and holiday lets, with reminders before they expire.

Power flushing

Clearing sludge out of the system so the radiators actually warm up and the boiler stops working so hard.

Local knowledge

Off the gas grid? The grant is bigger

If your heating runs on oil or LPG, you are eligible for a larger Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant than someone on mains gas. From 21 July 2026 that is £9,000 towards an air source heat pump on eligible off-gas-grid properties, rather than £7,500.

Oil is expensive, the tank takes up the garden, and the boiler will still be there in fifteen years. Worth reading our oil boiler to heat pump page before you replace like for like.

That said, an old solid-walled cottage bleeding heat is a poor candidate for a heat pump, and we will say so rather than sell you one. We survey properly first.

Good to know

Crediton FAQs

I am on oil out near Crediton. Is a heat pump worth it?

Often, yes, and more so than on mains gas, because oil costs considerably more per unit of heat. Eligible off-gas-grid properties can get £9,000 through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme from 21 July 2026. But it depends entirely on how well the building holds heat, so we do a proper heat loss survey before saying either way.

Do you cover the villages around Crediton?

Yes. Crediton, Copplestone, Bow, Sandford and the surrounding villages are all within our patch.

Can you service an oil boiler?

Our gas work is Gas Safe registered. For oil-specific work, ask us and we will tell you straight what we can and cannot take on rather than turning up and improvising.
