Keep it running safely

A boiler that gets serviced every year burns less gas and is far less likely to pack up in the middle of January. It is also how you keep the manufacturer's warranty valid, which people tend to find out about at the worst possible moment. SWW services and repairs boilers across Exeter and Devon, all by Gas Safe registered engineers.

Broken down completely? Get in touch and we'll fit you in as quickly as we can. No heating or hot water is something we try to prioritise.

Annual service

What a service includes

Full safety check

We check the boiler is running safely and correctly, including flue and combustion readings. That is the part that actually matters.

Clean & inspect

Key components checked and cleaned, seals and pressures inspected, and anything starting to wear flagged before it becomes a breakdown.

Efficiency Check

A well-maintained boiler burns less gas. We make sure yours is running as efficiently as it should be, keeping your bills down.

Repairs & breakdowns

When something's gone wrong

No hot water. No heating. A boiler that keeps losing pressure, a leak, an error code on the display, radiators that will not warm up. We find the fault properly and then tell you straight whether it is a quick fix or something bigger. If it is beyond economical repair we will say so, rather than take your money to patch it up twice.

If a boiler's beyond economical repair we'll say so rather than sink your money into it, and we can talk you through a replacement if that's the sensible route.

Common questions

Servicing & repair FAQs

How often should I service my boiler?

Once a year is the recommendation, and it's usually a condition of keeping your manufacturer's warranty valid. It also catches small problems before they turn into expensive ones.

My boiler's broken down, how fast can you come out?

Get in touch as soon as you can and we'll fit you in as quickly as possible. Call rather than email if it's urgent. We try to prioritise no heating or hot water.

What's included in a boiler service?

A full safety and combustion check, inspection and cleaning of key components, a pressure and efficiency check, and a heads-up on anything starting to wear.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes. All servicing and repair work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, so you know it's done safely and to standard.

FAQs

Boiler servicing FAQs

How often should a boiler be serviced?

Once a year. It keeps the warranty valid, catches small faults before they become breakdowns, and makes sure the boiler is burning safely. Most manufacturers require annual servicing as a condition of the guarantee.

What is actually checked in a service?

We check the boiler is burning correctly with a flue gas analyser, inspect the seals and key components, check the pressure and safety devices, and confirm it is operating within the manufacturer's figures. You get a record of the results.

Do you service boilers you did not install?

Yes. Most of the boilers we service were fitted by somebody else. As long as it is a make we can get parts and data for, we will service it.

Is a service the same as a gas safety certificate?

No. A service checks the boiler is running well; a gas safety certificate, or CP12, is a legal check of the appliances for landlords. We do both, and can carry them out in the same visit.
